How time flies when you’re having fun !

28th November 2008 – the day I started my annual leave ---till today, 14th. December 2008 – I have been lazing at home—without a care in the world ! What a life ! What a relief ! ---to just sleep in and be totally lazy.
Although I have to admit that after 10 days, boredom was kind of creeping in and I started calling my office buddy Atif , to find out whether anything new happened in the office---but all he had to say was , ‘..wait till you get back and I’ll tell keep you up to date with the latest gossip !. Ha ! Is that his way of trying me to get back to work soonet then I planned ? No way Jose ! I’m wallowing in this blissfull life --- although its only for a while. .
So....I HAD to finish my leave as I couldn’t carry them to next year. After all this I still have a day (or is it two ?) more to use up. Hmmmm…
Anyway, lets see my highlights of the last 18 days or so :-
•Celebrated my birthday with my family. My son took us out , together with my sister and brother-in-law for dinner. That was a pleasant outing although at the last minute, my first daughter could not join us as she was ‘on-call’ at the hospital the last 32 hours or so.
•Went to Malacca for a day trip during Hari Raya Korban
•Took lots and lots of afternoon naps (going to have a tough time readjusting my afternoons in the office now ….y..a..w.w.. .n….!!!
•Watch a few movies ….
•Oh ya…finally got my new ‘toy’ ----my Gen2 CPS. …and enjoying it..
•Visited my first sister at Bukit Mulia less than a kilometer away from the landslide area. ( Syukur alhamdulillah…her place is safe..)
•And finally…Saturday evening…I met my no.1 boss (yes, Datuk himself) at my local supermarket doing his provision with his son and maid ---that’s not a shock . This is the shock….
•We had a chat and he told me he was affected by the landslide although his house was safe, but not his neighbours , which was only two doors away !(Also found out that he knew my late Mana's vet Dr. Yogish who died in the landslide.) And he is presently renting a condominium near my place. (somehow it is strange to meet and talk to your boss in such circumstances) But for what its worth—I’m glad he is safe..
So that’s it ! Tomorrow –15th. December –I start work. Watchout kids !!heheheh…

Memorabilias !!
Memorabilias !! - Events or experiences worthy of remembrance: a book containing the memorabilia of a life
With free time at home while using up my annual leave, I dug up my old treasure cove of bits and pieces which I have kept. And these are some that I found !
My University Final Year exam time-table which I pasted on the wall .( BTW - Comp. St. =Computer studies: Fr. Str=French Structure: Syn.=Syntax: Hist.Ling.=Historical Linguistics
The outer and inner side of a do-it-yourself card for my exam done by my 5 year old son Shah, who was staying with me. (Those are owls--which he was so crazy about. He could name and identify the many various types of owls , flowers and dinasaurs...)
A newspaper cutting of my letter which I wrote to the NST.
A receipt for a job done to the house in UK which I kept all this while.

Another birthday--and what have I done !
So another December, another birthday. On this birthday , I sat back , consolidated my life and counted my blessings.
Syukur alhamdulillah ! Whatever He has given me ---is more than I bargained or asked for!
I took stock of my life and tried to list down the blessings He has bestowed on this mere mortal though not in chronological , priority or favorites order :-
I had been blessed with:
- With such wonderful and loving parents
- Wonderful siblings
- A family of my own
- Specifically my second sister who has sacrificed so much for me
- A healthy and meaningful life
- Three wonderful and loving children (my pride and joy) of my own
- Given the opportunity and experience to study and stay a while in the
- The opportunity to ‘go round the world’ and see whats on the other side like.
- A reasonably successful career
- Surviving a massive heart attack when I was only 49 years old
- The successes of my children :-
- My son – his successful career in
- My first daughter for graduating in
- My youngest daughter who is on the way to graduate as a lawyer (Insyallah) from the same top University.
- With how my children have grown to be - as adults
There are more---but suffice with these !
Yessirree --- I am indeed blessed . Regrets ? I would be lying if I say I don’t have any. But if you stacked them against all the above , they are so negligible and insignificant. No—I wouldn’t trade anything for what I already have
